Hickory (Carya Glabra) is a medium to large size tree that originated in North America. Hickory wood has sapwood white in color and heartwood with a brown or reddish-brown tint. Hickory is the heaviest, hardest, and strongest of all North American hardwoods. Hickory has a straight, fine grain that can be sanded to a good finish.
