Red Oak (Quercus Rubra) is a large size tree that originated in North America. Red Oak wood has sapwood that is white to brown and heartwood that has a light brown to a reddish pink color. Red Oak is mostly straight grained with a coarse texture. Red Oak wood is hard and heavy with average strength and stiffness, and above average wear resistance. Red Oak can be stained with a wide variety of finish tones. Red Oak lumber uses include cabinet making, flooring, furniture, molding, paneling, doors and veneer.
